Prior to joining Krilogy as Senior Partner and Chief Investment Officer, John M. McArthur CIMA® developed his skills in wealth management and financial planning during his 6-year tenure at A.G. Edwards & Sons in Frontenac, Missouri and over 5 years spent at Morgan Stanley Smith Barney in Chesterfield, Missouri. While with Transamerica in Los Angeles, he received a Personal Financial Planning designation from UCLA and has been named a 5-Star Wealth Manager by St. Louis Magazine on eight separate occasions. John has earned his CIMA® Designation through the Investments & Wealth Institute, formerly IMCA, and completed his preparation through the MIT Sloan Executive Education Program.
In addition to leading the Krilogy Investment Committee, John enjoys working with individuals and families alongside his teammates Jacob Steingrubey, CFP® and Robin Grayek. They collectively share a passion for getting to know the families they work with in a much deeper way and uncovering and solving their specific needs and objectives. John also takes pride in being able to bring an institutional style of portfolio construction, management and non-traditional wealth management strategies to families with which he and his team have the pleasure to work.
Tradition is important to John, which he carries from his personal and family values and his high school background at St. Louis University High. John was an Academic All-American at the University of Missouri where he quarterbacked alongside Krilogy Founder/Partner Kent Skornia and later graduated and played at Northwestern University. He recognizes the importance of responsibility, commitment and leadership in partnering with clients to help guide them to, and through, retirement.
