Matt is an accountant for Krilogy Tax Services, an affiliated company to Krilogy that serves primarily Krilogy clients who seek additional tax advice and guidance. Creating and managing a client’s financial picture involves a seamless connection between financial advising and tax planning. This comprehensive approach and commitment to client service is what led Matt Mercer to join Krilogy Tax in 2017. He felt confident he could leverage his experience as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) to work alongside the team of Krilogy advisors to help manage clients’ overall financial strategies. Matt focuses his practice on tax preparation and tax planning. He takes great pride in helping people create strategies and find opportunities to save money.
In 2008, Matt received his Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Westminster College. While at Westminster College, Matt was the captain of the Men’s Soccer team, earning many accolades during his time with the team. In 2010, Matt received his Master’s in Business Administration at Missouri Baptist University, while he also became an Academic All-American in Lacrosse. Since graduating with his master’s degree, Matt has worked in public accounting and earned his CPA in 2016.
Matt currently resides in St. Charles, Missouri, with his wife, Kelsey, and has four sons, Lincoln, Graham, Nolan and Wyatt. Away from the office, Matt loves spending time with his family and seeking out anything that might have some competition. Matt also spends much of his time with the not-for-profit, Dueling for Lincoln – an organization he created with his wife in memory of Lincoln, whom they lost to Noonan Syndrome. Dueling for Lincoln is dedicated to raising money to aid in research to help find treatments for Noonan Syndrome, Congenital Heart Disease and Juvenile Myelomonocytic Leukemia (JMML), as well as providing financial support to families coping with these traumatic diseases.
