Why I became an advisor
Before I became an advisor, I spent eight years teaching Financial Peace University and watched people's lives change right in front of me. Then the real estate bubble burst. I was in the mortgage industry, living through my first real recession, and when I turned to my own advisor and tax professional, I felt like a product or a number. I had no clear road map for my planning, tax, and estate questions. Other professionals encouraged me to look at this industry, and my pastor and friend urged me to bring a servant mindset to financial planning. I passed my exams and started in 2009, and that pastor and his wife became my first clients.
