Jake L. Thornton is Director of Portfolio Strategy at Krilogy in Creve Coeur, Missouri, where he helps shape the investment platform advisors use to build and manage client portfolios. A Level III Candidate in the CFA Program, Jake has more than 10 years of experience in financial services. He got his start at Krilogy as a research intern while earning his BSBA with an emphasis in corporate finance from the University of Missouri-St. Louis, and joined the firm full time in 2017.
Jake’s first full-time role combined client work as a wealth advisor with investment research as an Investment Research Associate. He went on to serve as Fundamental Research Strategist before stepping into his current role. He also serves on Krilogy’s Investment Committee, which builds and monitors the firm’s portfolios, and its Alternatives Subcommittee, which researches opportunities for client portfolios.
A background in fitness, where putting clients first was the whole job, is part of what drew Jake to Krilogy. He values that the firm’s RIA platform gives the team access to a broad range of investment tools without being tied to any single product, and that advisors, researchers, and specialists work together as one team.
